Our greater Boston area moving company has been getting a lot of questions lately regarding whether or not we can move large household appliances from one residence to another. The answer is YES!
What counts as a household appliance
Large household appliances consist of refrigerators and coolers, mini fridges, washers, dryers, stoves, and exercise equipment. Essentially anything that would require the work of two or even three of our moving guys here at Mastodon Moving.
How we handle this type of move
First things first, you’ll need to make sure that when you contact us that you mention any appliances you need moved. For refrigerators and stoves in particular, we need to come prepared with additional tools to disconnect and reconnect these appliances. We also recommend that you contact the provider of those appliances to determine if there’s anything you’ll need to do prior to our team’s arrival on moving day (such as request cutting the gas line or water line).
Once our Boston area movers arrive, we’ll get to work carefully wrapping up the appliance with our padded moving blankets and use two-wheeled manual lift to cart it out the door and into our spacious moving van. If you live in an apartment with narrow doorways, hallways or staircases, it may be easier to lift these appliances out a window. However, every situation is different, so our moving crew will make the call on how to remove the appliance and will keep you informed.
